NISSAN Rogue listed as top ’14 Most affordable compact SUVs, beating Honda, Subaru, Ford and Toyota!

NISSAN Rogue tops the list of 2014 Most affordable compact SUVs, beating out Honda, Subaru, Ford and Toyota!

If you're shopping for a compact SUV, the bevy of competitive options to choose from may overwhelm you. Since the last comparison test in 2012 new models from Jeep, Nissan and Toyota have gone on sale, and they're selling quite well.

One other thing that has changed recently: Most models in this segment come with relatively well-equipped base levels, or with just a few options selected. That makes finding the most affordable versions easier, but it's not a simple task.

Cars.com compiled the right trim levels that deliver expected features in this class and included the cost of gas over five years to determine the most affordable compact SUV among the ranks.

The redesigned Nissan Rogue topped the list by a scant $295 over the smaller and less well-reviewed Mitsubishi Outlander Sport when taking into the factors used to compile the list.

The new 2014 Nissan Rogue is available at all seven Mossy Nissan locations in San Diego.

Reaffirming its position as an ideal family road-trip machine, the all-new 2014 Nissan Rogue was named "Best Crossover" in the 2014 Parents and Edmunds.com 10 Best Family Cars list. The award comes on the heels of news that the 2014 Rogue set yet another sales record in May 2013.

For the seventh straight year, car experts at Parents and Edmunds.com evaluated hundreds of vehicles to determine which are best suited for families. This year, the top 10 were chosen based on safety, convenience and high-tech performance features at all price levels. 2014 Nissan Rogue named a “Must Test Drive” SUV for 2014 by AutoTrader.com

2014 Nissan Rogue named a "Must Test Drive" SUV for 2014 by AutoTrader.com

- All-new crossover recognized for practicality and sophisticated interior; joins the ranks of 2013 Pathfinder -

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Fresh off a record-setting March, encouraging news continues to pour in for the all-new 2014 Nissan Rogue. Today, AutoTrader.com, a leading resource for car shoppers and sellers, named the 2014 Rogue a "Must Test Drive" SUV for 2014. According to AutoTrader.com research, the test drive is considered one of the most influential parts of the decision making process for car shoppers, an important incentive to put together the "Must Test Drive" awards each year. The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder was named to the list last year.

In selecting the Rogue to the "Must Test Drive" list, editors at Autotrader.com noted the completely redesigned crossover's "affordability, versatility and refinement," and impressive features such as available third-row seating and Around View Monitor. Editors also pointed to the Rogue's revamped interior and best-in-class 33 miles per gallon (mpg) highway fuel economy in front-wheel drive models*. As AutoTrader.com Site Editor Brian Moody wrote, "The 2014 Nissan Rogue is simply the best compact SUV available."
For Nissan, this accolade comes on the heels of news that Rogue set an all-time monthly record with 19,420 deliveries in March 2014, an increase of 26.3 percent. Nissan's second-best selling vehicle has enjoyed impressive numbers since it went on sale in November 2013 - in its first full month of availability, sales of the 2014 Rogue were up 27.8 percent, and sales have only continued to climb since.
"With a wealth of new features, a revamped interior, superior gas mileage and much more, the 2014 Nissan Rogue was re-created to compete with the best in a very competitive segment," said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations. "So far, sales numbers have confirmed it's doing just that, and recognitions like this one only point to increased success in the future. Realizing the tremendous influence of a test drive, we're especially grateful to be included in AutoTrader's 'Must Test Drive' list."
The Nissan Rogue, which was completely redesigned for the 2014 model year, challenges convention once again with bold emotive styling, a premium interior created with comfort and multi-tasking in mind, and an array of available affordable technologies. Rogue offers optional 3-row/7-passenger seating, along with exceptional passenger and cargo flexibility with its innovative EZ Flex seating System and innovative Divide-N-Hide Cargo System. Every 2014 Nissan Rogue is equipped with a responsive 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. The engine is matched with an advanced Xtronic transmission. Nissan Rogue Takes to the Track – the Ice Track!

Nissan Rogue Takes to the Track - the Ice Track!

MONTREAL, Canada - Winter has been unrelenting throughout the U.S. and Canada this year. There certainly was no exception to be found in Montreal, a southwest city in the Canadian province of Quebec.

The very low temperatures and snowy conditions made it perfect timing for Nissan to invite Canadian journalists to Quebec's Laurentian mountains. Once there, the company's guests got to take the all-new Rogue for a spin on the ice-covered Mecaglisse circuit, which is part of a purpose-built, 700-acre all-season motorsports facility located in Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci.

"There is no better place, even in Canada," said Christian Meunier, president, Nissan Canada. "We were looking for a special location to show the journalists what it is like to drive the Rogue in the true Canadian winter."

The Mecaglisse circuit represents the most extreme situation that a driver could encounter from a traction point of view.  It is a great place to highlight the advantages of Rogue's advanced all-wheel drive (AWD) system.

"It is not only just about AWD, the wheels powering down. It is also about the steering, the braking and how all of Rogue's systems come together to deliver a confident ride and driving experience," said Tim Franklin, Product Planning, Nissan Canada.

The Rogue impressed even the most experienced winter drivers, including the co-owner of the track and facility, Franck Kirchhoff.  "I drove this car yesterday, and even if you drive without studs, only on regular winter tires, you really feel the car, and the handling is really good. I drive many cars during the winter, and I feel the Rogue is one of the best SUVs that you can get."

If the winter of 2013 and 2014 persists in dumping snow, at least there is a new hero to help navigate the roads - the all-new 2014 Nissan Rogue.

Nissan ROGUE: TAKE THE ROADS LESS TRAVELED

Nissan ROGUE:
TAKE THE ROADS LESS TRAVELED
It's called "intelligent" AWD for a reason. This advanced system can tell if you are cruising, or cornering. It can sense a loss of traction under a specific wheel or wheels and redirect torque automatically. For even more confidence behind the wheel, Rogue is equipped with Active Ride Control, Active Trace Control, and Active Engine Braking.
Active Ride Control
In the event you're jostled by a bump in the road, Rogue's Active Ride control system kicks in. It works by automatically applying the brakes and adjusting engine torque to help smooth the impact, helping you stay composed and comfortable.
Active Trace Control
By selectively applying Rogue's brakes when cornering, Active Trace Control can automatically engage the inner or outer brakes, optimizing your line through turns.
Active Engine Braking
As you apply the brakes, Rogue's Active Engine Braking system adjusts torque to slow down the vehicle while enhancing control and stopping confidence.

The All-New 2014 Nissan Rogue comes with confidence standard!

The All-New 2014 Nissan Rogue comes with confidence standard!

Confidence comes standard
Like every Nissan vehicle, the all-new 2014 Rogue comes equipped with a suite of standard safety, driving, and convenience features designed to help inspire confidence behind the wheel, and make every ride better, safer, and more enjoyable.

Forward Collision Warning
Sensors in Rogue's front bumper are continually monitoring the road ahead and calculating the distance to the vehicle in front of you. If the system senses you are closing in too quickly, you will be alerted with visual and audio cues.

Blind Spot Warning
If a vehicle is in your blind spot, indicators on the Advanced Drive-Assist® Display and next to your side mirror will illuminate. If you signal to change lanes while a vehicle is still there, a chime and a warning light alert you of its presence.

Lane Departure Warning
As you drive, the rearview camera monitors the lines on the road, and if you stray from your lane, the Lane Departure Warning System will let you know with audio and visual alerts.

Moving Object Detection
Moving Object Detection uses the cameras of the Around View® Monitor to help you avoid bumps and collisions. It provides visual and audible warnings if the system detects moving objects nearby, and is particularly handy when you are pulling into and out of tight parking spaces.
Clever. Careful. Confident.
Class-Exclusive 360° Around View® Monitor

The all-new 2014 Nissan Rogue has an available class-exclusive Around View® Monitor to make backing-up and parking a breeze. The system works by converting the view from each of four wide-angle cameras (in the front, rear, and side mirrors) into a composite overhead view of your Rogue. Now you can see your vehicle's position in relation to its surroundings on all sides, avoiding not only the car behind or in front, but saving your wheels from nasty curb damage.

Nissan today debuted the all-new 2014 Nissan Rogue. For the first time, assembly of this vehicle moves to the U.S. at Nissan's Smyrna, Tenn. plant. More than 900 jobs were added to support the production.

Nissan Division sales, spurred by gains in these top-selling, core-models rose 24.3 percent in August to 108,614 units. This was an August record.

"It was time to refresh our model line. When we went through the 2008 financial crisis, we delayed several products. Our product portfolio was five to six years old, and it was time to bring out the new ones," said Carla Bailo, senior vice president, research and development for Nissan.

The Rogue is Nissan's second best-selling vehicle in the U.S. lineup.  This new model has bold new styling, a premium interior meant for multi-tasking, and an array of available technologies.

"With this exciting, innovative, all-new design, Nissan is aggressively targeting increased sales and share in every market. By sharing development costs, while adapting powertrains, designs and equipment offerings for each specific region, Nissan has been able to add features and technologies while keeping prices affordable. No matter the specific market nameplate, it's a guaranteed winner."

The 2014 Rogue's new exterior design provides a premium, high-quality look and feel with available LED headlights, standard LED signature daytime running lights, outside mirrors with integrated turn signals and rear spoiler. Also available are a power panoramic moonroof and a power rear liftgate.

For the first time, Rogue will offer optional 3-row/7-passenger seating, thanks to its improved interior packaging efficiency. Among the many interior highlights are the innovative, class-exclusive*** Divide 'n Hide® Cargo System providing 18 adjustable variations (two-row models) between the cargo and occupant areas.
