Prince and his all-female band 3rd Eye Blind set the stage on fire with a blend of new songs, cover tunes and Prince classics- including Purple Rain and Nothing Compares 2 U. The 1,000 seat Legends Ballroom is the smallest venue Prince has played to in San Diego in over 30 years!

Nissan presents Gold GT-R to Usain Bolt.Auctions off another GOLD GT-R for for BOLT's charity!
Six-time Olympic gold medal-winner Usain Bolt has taken delivery of his special-edition Gold Nissan GT-R. The custom 2014 GT-R is one of only two gold GT-Rs built, with the other raising $187,100 for Bolt's charity when it was auctioned in 2012.
Nissan presented the special GT-R to Bolt at his training facility in Jamaica over the weekend. The athlete personally selected the car's white interior and hyper titanium-finished forged Rays alloy wheels, and Nissan engineers used data from a test drive to customize the GT-R to Bolt's driving style. Bolt's GT-R also gets the same engine and chassis tweaks found on the 2014 model, along with an exclusive "Spec Bolt" emblem to finishing off its unique look.

Just announced! Nissan unveils new Friend-ME Concept Car!
This swoopy sedan-with-a-hatchback was developed specifically for Chinese youth in their mid-twenties. The sheetmetal looks like it was shaped by waves, and the details like lighting and vent openings could have been penned on Krypton! But according to Autoblog.com the real show is inside, where peers are made equal and can interact with one another via the "oracle stone." The concept is that instead of a driver and three passengers, everyone gets access to the same information and the ability to alter the ambiance of the car - dash readouts are provided for all of the occupants, and anyone can move content from their phones to the in-car screens to be shared throughout. As Nissan says, it's the end of anyone being a "music dictator."

It's no wonder the hot new NISSAN LEAF is popular with celebrities like Penn Jillette, David Arquette, Ashley Gearing and Alyssa Milano. Last month was a great month for the 2013 Nissan LEAF with 2,236 units sold, making it the best month ever the for electric vehicle. For the 2013 model year Nissan updated the LEAF and even moved production to its Tennessee plant. The changes resulted ina price drop by $6,400 and higher inventory numbers, which together helped Nissan surpass the record it set in June of 2011, when 1,708 LEAFs were sold.

The innovative Nissan LEAF, the worlds first mass produced all-electric vehicle is breaking sales records, but for Nissan, the LEAF is just the beginning! What's next? Possibly the Nissan TeRRA EV! The Nissan TeRRA is an urban SUV featuring the 107-hp electric motor from the Leaf powering the front wheels and two in-wheel electric motors pulled from the PIVO concepts in each of the rears. The use of in-wheel electric motors saves the vehicle from the weight of rear half-shafts, but also does away with the need for a hump in the cabin floor to accommodate said shafts. The powerplants are fed by a hydrogen fuel-cell stack located under the hood, featuring power density of 2.5 kW per liter. Nissan claims this powertrain generates enough oomph to facilitate on- and off-road behavior. Things don't get any less complicated once inside. Rather than a traditional instrument panel, the TeRRA gets a dock where a traditional instrument panel normally would go. To be docked when you get into the vehicle is a tablet, which defaults to display speed and other indicators you'd expect from a gauge cluster but can be toggled to entertainment, communications, navigation, and other functions. Once departing the vehicle, the tablet can be taken from its dock and perform just like any other iPad.
Perhaps more perplexing is the seating layout in the TeRRA. The driver is seated nearly in the center of the car with the passenger seat next to and slightly behind the driver with the rear seats following the pattern. The diagonal layout, according to Nissan, provides the driver with "exceptional visibility" and "allows all passengers to share the vision of adventures up ahead." The rear and passenger seats can be folded completely flat-thanks again to the in-wheel electric motors creating a completely flat cabin floor-allowing for easy loading of bikes, kayaks, or even flat-pack furniture "from Scandinavia." The rest of the interior features a mixture of wood, acrylic, and metallic trim. Blond and beech wood meld with acrylic on the dash and door panels, while metallic accents are abundant, but none more so than the metal frame ringing the cabin at shoulder height.
Nissan says that the TeRRA is nothing more than a concept car, but that the Japanese brand could mass-produce fuel-cell EVs whenever hydrogen becomes widely available.

When you think of Datsun and Nissan, you think more of family sedans than sports cars, more of rust than racing.
Would it surprise you to know that Nissans and Datsuns hold a manufacturers record of over 80 SCCA racing titles? That they have not only competed at Le Mans, but they have won it. That they won Daytona not just 4 times, but 4 years in a row? That Nissan sports cars, sedans, and Prototype racers have over 200 IMSA Victories?
Or that Datsuns have won the worlds toughest rally, the Safari Rally, at least 7 times outright, with even more podium finishes than that. That their cars and trucks have over 20 off road titles under their steel belts?

"Nissan really did its homework in developing the all-new interior for the Pathfinder," said WardsAuto World magazine executive editor Tom Murphy. "It's warm, inviting, spacious and ready for anything. From the thick, Berber carpet floor mats to the Dual Panorama Moonroof, the new Pathfinder is a fine example of graceful utility."
The full "Ward's 10 Best Interiors" feature will be available in the May issue of WardsAuto World and online at www.WardsAuto.com. The award will be presented during a ceremony in Dearborn, Mich., on May 22.
Jon Brancheau, Vice President, Marketing, Nissan North America said: "The completely-redesigned Pathfinder is Nissan's most innovative Pathfinder ever. Combining the capability of an SUV with the comfort of a sedan for the entire family, the 2013 Pathfinder offers a tremendous amount of interior room and amenities to keep passengers of any age comfortable. Nissan is honored to receive this prestigious award and thanks WardsAuto World for the recognition."
The all-new fourth-generation Nissan Pathfinder seats up to seven passengers and boasts best-in-class passenger volume, best-in-class front headroom and legroom and class-exclusive reclining third row seats.* The Nissan EZ FlexTM Seating System allows the second row to move forward or backward up to 5 1/2 inches for easy access to the back row, even with a child seat installed. When carrying seven passengers, the Pathfinder still accommodates up to 16 cubic feet of cargo.
This most recent honor adds to an already impressive list of awards for Pathfinder this year. In February, MotorWeek announced the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder as their winner in the "Best Large Utility" category at the Chicago Auto Show. Additionally, Popular Mechanics named the Nissan Pathfinder "Most Versatile" in its 2013 Automotive Excellence Awards. And versatile is what many living in San Diego need for the mountains, the desert, the beach and the freeways all around.

The all-electric, zero emission Nissan LEAF is gaining momentum every month and is setting sales records as the first mass produced, affordable electric vehicle. But Nissan actually developed their first electric car back in 1947! After World War 2, gas was scarce in Japan, so Nissan and the Prince Co. worked together to develop the TAMA EV, one of the world's first electric vehicles! The passion for building the ultimate electric vehicle hasn't stopped!
